“Our Next Step”

While traveling on the road to Caesarea Philippi, Jesus strikes up a conversation with His disciples by asking them two very important questions. The first, “Who do men say that I am?” and the second, “Who do you say that I am?” A religious mindset will question God’s accomplished will, while blindly searching for answers. Peter on the other hand, by the Spirit of God, pulls back the curtain on the CHURCH AGE. “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Peter declared with boldness answering the question. Jesus then brings His disciples’ attention to the reality of Peter’s statement by saying, “…on this rock (this revelation) I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail (or be victorious) against it.”

There has never been anything like the church nor shall anything compare to it. Brother Hagin prophesied that in the last days God would build strong local churches. For Mandy and I, our call is to support and aid strong local churches to become all God has purposed them to be. Jeremiah 1:10 says, “See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.” I have taken this verse to heart, as all believers should. We are the body of Christ and have protection against the strongholds of Hell and authority that affects both heaven and earth as we bind and loose. (Matthew 16:18-19) We are to overrule principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, and spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places in order to establish the church of God. (Eph. 6:12)

Why is the local church so important? Why should we give such attention to its success and its efforts? The answer is found in 1 Timothy 3:15b, “…which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground (foundation and mainstay) of the truth. God spoke this to me some time back concerning this very thing, “Truth is facing its greatest opposition than ever seen. Don’t become deceived by new formulas of truth, but be led into truth by My Spirit and it will be known by you and will make you free. As you do, a concrete trust will form that will not flinch in the day of question.”

You see, the church is to be the beacon of truth, the place for all those that are hurting, suffering, and under the oppression of the enemy to be drawn to and be healed, delivered and set free.

The local church must be built upon Christ, on absolute truth, not subjective truth, but truth that is the same yesterday, today, and forever. How exciting that we believers are a part of these end times where we are positioned and used to give light to the world of who Christ is and who we are in Him.

With these thoughts in mind, I want to share with you some exciting news concerning Martin Ministries International’s next steps. For nine years, Mandy and I have lived, made a home, launched a ministry and brought two beautiful children into the world in New Braunfels, TX. We have worked and served with Pastors Don and Jessamy Duncan at Tree of Life Church with great love, respect and adoration for all of those nine years, but as we all know seasons change. With much prayer and counsel, Mandy and I, as of June 1, will be repositioning Martin Ministries International to south Houston to join the efforts of Pastors Rusty and Leah Martin at Island Church.

We believe that this move will enable us to assist Pastors Rusty and Leah and the vision that God has given them to reach the city of Galveston, and the world! Please know, and make no mistake, Martin Ministries International (MMI) is going strong as we continue to develop and grow a ministry that imparts, establishes and encourages the body of Christ all over the world. We believe this decision will cause the next level of growth for MMI that God spoke to our hearts at the beginning of this year. We are simply being reassigned to a new location by God to build His kingdom and link arms with a local Pastor. We know these steps of faith are ordered of God and will produce much blessing. We believe this act of obedience will position Mandy and I on the ground level of the growth explosion that is taking place at Island Church. They are about to build a new building to hold the people God is sending and that are being added to them daily. I want to encourage you, if you are not already involved in a local body, become connected and be faithful to the church in which God has planted you.
